Most homeowners don't realize how much energy they can save with a little extra insulation. Most newer homes have acceptable amounts of wall/attic insulation. What they do lack is insulation on hot water pipes coming from the hot water heaters. If you don't think insulating these pipes is neccessary, simply touch the pipe, if it's hot, thats energy leaving the hot water heater and your pipes. Also, you should insulate the top portion of your water heater to keep in heat and lower your energy bills. An easy place to find all your insulation needs is www.BuyInsulationProducts.com They ship same day and have prices that are considerably less than a hardware store.
