As the temperatures heat up in Atlanta, so do the festivals and local calendar of events! On May 15 and 16, head to Canton, Geo. for the Festival of the Arts! On May 15 and 16, visit the Atlanta Celtic Festival held at the Georgia International Horse Park. From May 28 to May 31, beginning at 9:30 p.m. each night, head to Stone Mountain Park for the Stone Mountain Park Memorial Weekend Celebration! This year’s event provides the world’s largest laser show spectacular, with more fireworks, song segments and laser canopy special effects than ever before! Local veterans and current members of the military are honored each night of the event.
On May 29 and 30, head to Piedmont Park as the 31 Days of Jazz culminates at the 33rd Annual Atlanta Jazz Festival! This is the largest jazz fest in the country, gathering more than 100,000 visitors each year! Multiple venues across the city participate, including Centennial Olympic Park, Underground Atlanta, Churchill Grounds and Piedmont Park, as tons of jazz legends and future jazz legends perform. Cheer on the Atlanta Braves as baseball season heats up and heads into high gear! Visit the Georgia Renaissance Festival before it ends on June 6! Located on Virlyn B Smith Road, near the Atlanta Airport, castle gates lead you into a 15-acre marketplace featuring thousands of handcrafted wares, 12 stages of fun entertainment, tons of food feasting and shopping opportunities, and an overall ambiance of an old English marketplace. Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
Visit the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center before June 13 to view the special exhibit, Diana: A Celebration. This exhibit features 150 objects that take a deeper look into Princess Diana’s life, including dresses, personal mementos, paintings, home movies and more!
